Hi, I’m Lauren and I’m a recovering makeup-aholic. But seriously, the points I’ve racked up at Sephora in the last couple of months is almost shameful….almost. I’ve discovered some lifelong favorites and some products that are perfect for right now so I decided to share with you some of my favorite products.
Holy shit, people. This stuff is serious gold, literally. Inside this luxurious face oil are gold flakes that float around and make you feel like you’re Victoria effing Beckham. I mean you feel like a god damn superstar lathering gold on your face.
I would definitely classify my skin as oily so when the whole oil frenzy began, I felt really sad that I couldn’t join the pack. I tried a handful of oil-based products that I loved for the first couple of days, then, low and behold, once my skin realized I was dousing it in oil, it revolted. This has been the only face oil that hasn’t made me breakout. I’ve been using this morning and night for almost 2 months and my skin has never looked better. Other than being categorized as a moisturizer, this oil helps prep makeup (you can apply it directly to your bare face before application or you can mix it with your foundation,) nourish lips before matte lipstick and spot treat any dry or rough patches on your face and body.
Once summer hit I made the hard (and economically responsible) decision to give up eyelash extensions. I was so used to the way that my eyes looked with extensions that when I removed them I looked like I had no eyelashes. Honestly it was a terrifying realization that I had been jipped in the natural eyelash game.
When I came across this Korean beauty brand, I was instantly hooked. The curved wand makes application super simple and no matter how many coats you apply, it never gets clumpy! I stays on all day and never flakes. The best thing about this mascara is how lengthening it is. I swear it makes my lashes look like they’re fake. Definitely one of my favorite mascaras right now.
I’ve always been a huge BB/CC cream person. I love the concept of a tinted moisturizer infused with serum, it’s brilliant. Wearing foundation everyday feels heavy on my skin and sometimes it’s too intense for a trip to the grocery store. This stuff gives amazing coverage that’s buildable but feels super lightweight. It has a really clean, citrus-like scent that makes the whole makeup application feel like a trip to the spa. As a notorious over-user of liquid makeup, half a pump is more than enough to cover your face and neck. I apply mine with a damp beauty blender and the result is perfection. If you’re oily like me, you may need a translucent powder to pat on afterwards to mattify.
Okay, don’t look at the price. I felt super boujie purchasing this after the salesperson totally talked me into it, but it is spa quality. This is the best at-home facial I have ever done. Scratch that, this jar is even better than facials I’ve paid for! So there, I’ve just rationalized the price. You’re welcome.
I would describe this as a mild chemical peel. It has AHA and BHA so don’t expect to apply this and relax with cucumbers on your eyes. It itches and stings for the first few minutes but trust me when I saw the results are worth it. Immediately after this mask your skin looks resurfaced, plump and smooth. Over time it can help tighten pores, smooth out fine lines and reduce dark spots. Plus you use only a pump once a week or once every other week so the jar can last up to a year. Again, rationalizing the price. Buy it!!
Lightweight, buildable, natural flush look. I love this product and the range of colors are suitable for so many different skin tones. The great thing about these tints is they can go anywhere on your face. You can wear them on your lips, cheeks, eyelids, you name it. I like to mix mine on the top of my hand with a liquid highlighter which adds a nice glow to the already light formula. This is the first Glossier product I’ve ever purchased and I’ve gotta say, I am liking what the brand is about.
